Discover how ancient philosophy can make us all happier, wiser, and more resilient.

'Thought-provoking' Financial Times

'A brilliant and timely book' Tom Hodgkinson, bestselling author of How to Be a Stoic

When philosophy rescued him from an emotional crisis, Jules Evans became fascinated by how ideas invented over two thousand years ago can help us today.

In Philosophy for Life, Jules demonstrates the timeless relevance of this ancient wisdom and philosophy to help solve modern problems. This book is an invitation to a dream school with a faculty that includes 12 of the greatest philosophers from the ancient world - from Plato and Aristotle, to Seneca, and Socrates, sharing practical techniques we can use to better our lives.

Featuring true stories from real people who are using these techniques - from marines to magicians, astronauts to anarchists, and CBT psychologists to soldiers - this entertaining and enlightening guide to philosophy will help you to live well and happily.

Witty, accessible, and inspiring, Philosophy for Life reveals how the wisdom of the past can illuminate the path to a brighter and more fulfilled future for us all.
