'Deliciously surreal... lovers of Carter, Winterson and Atwood will adore this' - Ellie Zeegen

'Wise, witty and wonderful... reaffirmed my love of the short story.' Claire Wingfield

23 stories of extraordinary imagination by award-winning Scottish writer Jules Horne.

Dolly the Sheep is anointed by angels, a girl rugby-tackles Scottish country dancers, an old horse bequeaths its bones, an artist wraps a town in a shimmering canopy...

Fans of Angela Carter, Ray Bradbury and Patrick Suskind will enjoy this first collection of prize-winners and published stories in the Scottish Gothic tradition by Borders writer Jules Horne.

Immensely talented and truly original - Anjali Singh, Vintage Books

Jules's plays have been broadcast on BBC Radio and won two Edinburgh Fringe Firsts. She writes in a former weaving mill in Selkirk, with a blues band next door.
