Some love stories change us for ever.

For the last seven years, Mary O'Connor has waited for her first love. Every evening she arrives at Ealing Broadway station and stands with a sign which simply says: 'Come Home Jim'.

Commuters might pass her by without a second thought, but Mary isn't going anywhere. Until an unexpected call turns her world on its head.

It will take the help of a young journalist called Alice, and a journey across the country for Mary to face what happened all those years ago, and to finally answer the question: where on earth is Jim?

'Poignant and moving, this is 2021's standout love story so far - and one that shines a light on some very important issues. Exceptional.' THE SUN, Pick of the Week

'Oh, this gorgeous book. I absolutely loved it... A book that can make me both laugh and cry is an absolute winner in my book and The Ends of the Earth did just that. It offers all that I want in a book and it will be one of my books of the year.' NB MAGAZINE

'Fans of Jojo Moyes will love this intricate tale of a woman searching for answers about a lost lover.' NEW MAGAZINE
