In the driving under the influence (DUI) context it is conceded that drugs, illegal and those prescribed by a physician, may impair perception, memory, judgment, motor skills, and the ability to operate a motor vehicle. According to governmental statistics about one in five (18 percent) motorists killed in 2010 had drugs in their system at the time of the crash. Drug DUIs are becoming an alarming trend. This book details the drug DUI process from field sobriety testing, the DRE 12-step process, blood draws, and an analysis of all of the drugs that impair and affect an individual's ability to drive. This book is an objective and detailed review of the process that drug DUI cases must go through and a comprehensive analysis of the detection of drug impaired drivers and the gathering of evidence to prove a driver is under the influence of drugs.
