The practical, science-based approach to parenting cantered on your child's unique genetic 'code', from award-winning developmental psychology professor and researcher Dr Danielle Dick.

'This stunningly useful, unique book unlocks the secrets of genetics in a way any parent can understand and use right away.' Dr Edward Hallowell, child psychiatrist and bestselling author of Driven to Distraction and ADHD 2.0

There is no one way to parent; discover the right way for your child.

As parents, we want to know how to give our children the best start in life. But, with few exceptions, most parenting advice ignores a fundamental biological fact: every child has their own genetic code that affects everything from fearfulness to happiness.

In The Child Code, human behavioural expert Dr Danielle Dick distils years of research to show you how to unlock your child's unique genetic code.

Using the three E's - Extraversion, Emotionality and Effortful Control - you'll discover:

  • Your child's unique way of expressing themselves
  • How to adapt the way you parent to suit their needs
  • Ways to parent smarter and not harder

Your most important job as a parent is to help your child become who they were born to be; this book will show you how.

Praise for The Child Code:

'Truly helps you take your child's needs into account. When you're struggling, this book will help.' KJ Dell'Antonia, author of How to Be a Happier Parent

'A fascinating read with practical solutions.' Dr Judson Brewer, bestselling author of Unwinding Anxiety

'Every idea in this book is evidence-based and simple...a welcome and fresh addition to parenting that will help set kids up for authentic success.' Michele Borba, Ed.D., educational psychologist and author of Thrivers
