He has received M.A. degrees from Wheaton Graduate School of Theology and the University of Minnesota, and his Ph.D. is from the University of Chicago. Among his publications are The New Testament in Its Literary Environment and Prophecy in Early Christianity and the Ancient Mediterranean World.
