Über den Autor
Rachel Causer is a writer and performer based in London. She trained at Mountview Academy of Theatre Arts before completing writing courses at Theatre 503, The Arcola and most recently, the Criterion Theatre's New Writing Group 2019. After completing this course, her play JETSAM received a professional showcase at the theatre and is now in development. She is the founder of Scatterjam Theatre Company, often working closely with a team of associate artists to create comedy-based and female-led work. Her debut play, LIPPY, a semi-autobiographical multi-media show was programmed at Theatre N16 before a tour where it was one of three shows nominated for Best Newcomer at Brighton Fringe 2018. Following this, Rachel was selected to have short plays produced at The Bunker Theatre, Southwark Playhouse and Theatre 503 and her play STALEMATE was selected for a rehearsed reading at The Pleasance Theatre as a part of Reading Week 2019. Her next play, WHEN IT HAPPENS, was first produced at Tristan Bates Theatre as a part of The Maiden Speech Festival before being re-programmed for the Camden Fringe where it was named in Stagedoor's 'Top Ten Anticipated shows of the Fringe' and was nominated for an OFFIE award for Best Play in a Short Run.
Rachel was also one of eight writers to be commissioned by Small Truth Theatre in 2019 for their touring pop-up theatre venue, The Kensington Karavan, for which she wrote the short play, AMMONITE. Most recently, her play PLEASE, FEEL FREE TO SHARE received a run at The Tristan Bates Theatre. Rachel is an associate writer with Flux Theatre and is a lecturer and creative tutor at Mountview Academy of Theatre Arts. She is currently honing and developing her ideas for TV and Film.
