"In the short run, the market is a voting machine, but in the long run it is a weighing machine." --Benjamin Graham, The Intelligent Investor

From the player who fiddles with his chips when he's bluffing to another who whistles when she has a good hand, the game of poker is full of "tells"--and so are the financial markets. In Market Indicators, Richard Sipley unveils the signals that can help observant investors better their odds of success in the financial markets.

Sipley, a senior portfolio manager at Boston Private Bank & Trust Company, uses clear prose, charts, and resource lists to explain how individual investors can find, understand, and employ the market information of greatest interest to professional traders. Deriving clues from sources that include the options market, institutional traders, insiders, the financial press, relative value models, the bond markets, and the mysterious world of futures trading, Sipley initiates readers into time-tested methods that can reveal what other traders are doing and suggests ways to take advantage of that information.

Market Indicators will dramatically improve understanding of the financial markets, for both new investors as well as experts seasoned in managing a portfolio.
