Your journey into the horse's brain begins here.
Horse Brain Science (Simplified) is the doorway into equine neuroscience and the starting point for the Horse Brain Science Library. In clear, scientifically accurate language, Dr. Stephen Peters explains how the horse's brain senses, predicts, learns, and responds to safety and stress.
Illustrated with Dr. Peters's original drawings, this accessible guide helps every horse person understand the nervous system behind behavior-and build clearer communication, more thoughtful training, and deeper trust.
Dr. Stephen Peters is a neuroscientist, board-certified clinical neuropsychologist, and internationally recognized educator in equine neuroscience. After decades studying the human brain, he turned his focus to helping horse owners understand how horses think, learn, and respond to the world around them. Through his Horse Brain Science Clinics, books, and presentations, he has helped thousands of horse enthusiasts apply neuroscience to build safer, clearer, and more trusting partnerships with their horses. He lives in Mancos, Colorado, with his wife, dogs, and horses.
