Z.T. BIENIAWSKI VON PREINL. Professor, directed the Rock Mechanics Department of the Council for Scientific and Industrial Research in Pretoria (1967-1978). He then taught at the Pennsylvania State University for 20 years. Doctor Honoris Causa degree from the Technical University of Madrid (2001) and from the AGH University of Science and Technology in Kraków, Poland (2010). He was author of 12 books and over 200 research papers.
BENJAMIN CELADA TAMAMES was previously Chief Tunnel Engineer at Hunosa and Potasas de Navarra, S.A. developing Rock Mechanics activities before founding Geocontrol, S.A., engineering company specialised in Design and Engineering during Construction of Underground Works in which he is currently President and Chief Executive Officer. In 1992 he began to work as Professor of Tunnelling and Underground Works at the Polytechnic Mining University in Madrid (Spain) until he left in 2011 this position in order to manage the international expansion of Geocontrol, S.A. in Latin America.
