2020 feierte das Keltenmuseum Hallein bei Salzburg sein 50-jähriges Bestehen in Kooperation mit der Archäologischen Staatssammlung in München und dem Salzburg Museum mit einem Festkolloquium. Fachleute präsentierten der internationalen "Kelten-Community" neueste Forschungen zur Eisenzeit hybrid vor Ort in Hallein und global online. Im daraus entstandenen wissenschaftlichen Festband "Die Kelten Archäologie. Geschichte. Kultur" lassen Expertinnen und Experten die Fachgemeinschaft und die interessierte Öffentlichkeit an aktuellen Forschungen und Interpretationen zur europäischen Eisenzeit teilhaben. Der 640 Seiten starke, reich bebilderte Band beinhaltet Grundlageninformationen sowie zahlreiche Fallstudien zur "keltischen" Archäologie Mitteleuropas und reflektiert aktuelle Diskurse, Methoden und Perspektiven. Trotz verbleibender Rätsel und offener Fragen rund um den "Mythos Kelten" befördert das Werk die wissenschaftliche Standortbestimmung und skizziert neue Forschungswege für eines der faszinierendsten Kapitel europäischer Geschichte die Zeit der antiken Kelten zwischen 500 [...]. und der Zeitenwende.

In 2020, the Keltenmuseum Hallein near Salzburg in Austria celebrated its 50th anniversary in collaboration with the Archäologische Staatssammlung München and the Salzburg Museum with a celebratory colloquium. Experts presented the latest research on the Iron Age to the international "Celtic community" in a hybrid format both in person in Hallein and globally online. In the resulting anniversary publication, "The Celts Archaeology. History. Culture", renowned specialists share their current research and interpretations on the European Iron Age with the academic community and the interested public. The 640-page, richly illustrated volume contains basic information as well as numerous case studies on "Celtic" archaeology in Central Europe and reflects current discourses, methods and perspectives. Despite some mysteries and unanswered questions surrounding the "myth of the Celts", the publication advances the current state of academic research and outlines new approaches to one of the most fascinating chapters in European history the era of the ancient Celts between 500 B.C. and the turn of the era.
