Dr. Wen-Wei Chen is currently a postdoctoral researcher at the Future Energy Electronics Center (FEEC), Virginia Tech, USA. Dr. Chen received his BS degree in Electrical Engineering from the National Kaohsiung University of Applied Sciences, Kaohsiung City, Taiwan, in 2005, and his MS degree in Electrical Engineering from the National Cheng Kung University (NCKU), Tainan City, Taiwan, in 2007. Dr. Chen has since gathered a decade's experience as an engineer and manager, specializing in the development of power integrated circuit (IC) components and devices, such as battery switching chargers, central processing unit (CPU) core power ICs, light-emitting diode (LED) drivers, adaptive on-time control for buck converters, and solid-state drive power management ICs, including prominent positions at companies such as Richtek Technology (MediaTek), DialogSemiconductor, and Novatek Microelectronics.
From 2012 to 2014, Dr. Chen completed his PhD degree in Electrical Engineering at the NCKU, Tainan City, Taiwan. His primary research interest is in power integrated circuits with power electronics applications.
Dr. Chen has published numerous journal and conference papers, and holds 24 patents certified in the United States, Taiwan, China, and Korea. In recognition of his significant contributions, Dr. Chen received the "2014 IEEE Tainan Section Macronix Award" from the IEEE, the "2014 Outstanding Young Engineer Award" from the Chinese Institute of Engineers, and the "2012 Richtek Invention Award" and "2010 Outstanding Achievement Team Award" from Richtek Technology (MediaTek).
Prof. Jiann-Fuh Chen is currently associate dean of the College of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science, National Cheng Kung University (NCKU), Tainan City, Taiwan. Prof. Chen received his BS, MS, and PhD degrees in Electrical Engineering from the NCKU, Tainan City, Taiwan, in 1978, 1980, and 1985, respectively. Since 1980, he has been working at the NCKU's Department of Electrical Engineering. His chief research interests include power electronics and energy conversion.
