Cash Carraway is one of those single mums who grew up in a council house in Penge, South East London.

Her short story, 'How I Lost My Vagina', was shortlisted for 'Best Writer' at the Mumsnet Awards 2015 by Orange Prize Winner Lionel Shriver, who said Cash was 'the definition of edgy, a truly distinctive voice'. Miriam Gonzalez Durantez also shortlisted Cash for 'Best Campaigner' for coverage of the Children's Society's Seriously Awkward campaign, as did Stella Duffy in 2016 for her poem 'The Very Obvious Title of Mayhem'.

Cash has appeared on numerous panels, including one alongside Sara Pascoe, Zoe Williams and Miranda Sawyer.

Her one-woman spoken-word show, Refuge Woman, about government cuts to domestic violence services is touring the UK throughout 2018 in collaboration with Camden Peoples Theatre, The Bureau of Investigative Journalism and Battersea Arts Centre.
