The term 'history' is used here to describe a compilation of events that were captured as memories, information and images in literature, family photos or postcards of the area of Kassandrou street an integral part of the "upper city". The top part of the "upper city" is marked by the northern part of the ancient and Byzantine walls, which once surrounded the city. Two names of members of the royal family of Macedonia; Cassander, a descendant of Alexander the Great, King of Macedonia, built the city and named it after his wife the half-sister of Alexander the Great, daughter of Philip II. Augustus Julianos "meets" Kassandros at the crossing point of the two streets (Kassandrou and Ioulianou), although they never met each other in the course of their lives.
