Beschreibung
It is rumoured that, somewhere in the far northern forests of our world, there still live the descendants of ancient humanoid races, and among these, the forest gnomes. Over the centuries and millennia, forest gnomes have chosen to remain hidden and have avoided all human contact, instead living in peace and harmony alongside the creatures with whom they share their forest environment. But this peaceful and idyllic life is suddenly interrupted one night for one young gnome when he is plucked from his forest home and thrust into the strange and alien world of giants!
It should have been a routine autumn night expedition to forage for food for his family. Instead, Toby, the young forest gnome, finds himself pursued by a group of human hunters and their hounds. Despite his valiant efforts and skills in camouflage and gnome magic, he is captured. He wakes up to find himself in a strange domain, among garden gnomes and other curious objects.
Now far away from his beloved forest, he must use his skills and wits in his attempts to get back home. Luckily, he is befriended by Rosie and her brother Robbie, human children who are determined to help him.
But can he escape and evade recapture by his nemesis, the driven and vindictive hunter Orson, on his long journey back to his home forest, before the winter sets in?
'There Is No Place Like Gnome!' is a turbulent tale of magical realism written with older middle grade school age readers in mind, but it is a tale that should find wider appeal too!
The novel is approximately 200 pages in length.
