When young Margarete leaves Germany with her husband Ulrich in 1907, her long-cherished dream finally comes true: Africa! Arriving at the foot of Mount Kilimanjaro, Ulrich and she set up a paradisiacal farm. But unlike Margarete, Ulrich does not feel at home in the colony of German East Africa. When she goes on safari, he remains uncomprehendingly behind. The Maasai revere her as Jeyo - mother. Only the Greek Anthimos shares her fascination for Africa. The two fall passionately in love with each other. Then, the First World War breaks out. Anthimos asks her to flee with him. But Margarete can no longer imagine a life out of Africa. Next, the dramatic events come to a head . . .

Über den Autor
Rolf Ackermann was born in Duisburg, Germany, on January 24th, 1952.
As a former undercover agent (employed as a civil servant) of the German intelligence service, specialized in international terrorism, he got deep insights into a world that remains closed to most of the people.
He published features and reports at nearly all renowned German newspapers (school radio), audio dramas at the German TV-station WDR, and books, especially historical novels at very prestigious publishing companies, as well in his name as under the pseudonym Manfred Morstein.
Rolf Ackermann is said to be an Africa expert and reported, especially from war and crisis regions. He lived ten years in Kenia and eight years in Namibia. His long-time stay in East Africa inspired him for his biographic novel "Die weiße Jägerin" (new title "Die weiße Jägerin von Afrika"). It is the story of the young German Margarete Trappe, who lived her dream of a farm in Africa in the last century. The German TV-station ZDF presented the extraordinary life story of this impressing woman as a docudrama in two parts "Momella - Eine Farm in Afrika". Rolf Ackermann was bound as a consultant for the production.
In 2007, he founded San Foundation, a private help organisation for KhoiSan ("bushmen").
In 2016, he was chosen as "town clerk" in Otterndorf, a town in the North of Germany.
He died on July 15th, 2016 after a short but serious illness.
