The Tactical Negotiator
Control the Conversation. Control the Outcome.
When pressure is high, most people talk more.
Professionals do the opposite.
Written by a police hostage negotiator, The Tactical Negotiatorreveals the communication strategies used when conversations carry real consequences-where the wrong words can escalate conflict, destroy trust, or cost lives.
This book strips negotiation back to its essentials: preparation, listening, timing, emotional control, and intent. You'll learn how to handle silence without panic, recognise misdirection, slow volatile situations, and influence outcomes without threats, manipulation, or force.
Built on real-world crisis negotiation principles, this is a practical, step-by-step framework you can apply immediately-whether you're leading teams, managing conflict, dealing with difficult people, or navigating high-stakes conversations in work or life.
No theory for theory's sake.
No gimmicks.
Just proven tactics that work when it matters most.
If you want to stay calm under pressure, think clearly when others don't, and take control of conversations before they control you-this book is for you.
