Theodore Roosevelt (1858-1919) served as the twenty-sixth President of the United States from 1901 to 1909. A historian, soldier, naturalist, and reformer, he played a central role in Progressive Era politics, expanded the national park system, advanced regulatory reforms, and strengthened the international standing of the United States. In 1906 he was awarded the Nobel Peace Prize for his mediation in the Russo-Japanese War. His writings include histories, essays, political commentary, and memoirs, reflecting a lifelong commitment to public service and intellectual inquiry.
