  • Daily stages range from 9-19 miles (15-30km) in length, and are best walked between April and October
  • Clear route descriptions accompany 1:50,000 OS mapping, with tips on planning, transport, accommodation and luggage transfer, and notes on local history and points of interest
  • Crosses rolling hills, wooded river valleys, lochsides and rugged moorland, including the remote reaches of the Galloway Hills, Carsphairn range, Lowthers, Ettrick Hills, Manor Hills, Inch Moor and Lammermuirs
  • Includes advice on backpacking - taking advantage of five bothies and unlimited wild camping possibilities - or staying in accommodation (ideally reached via pre-arranged vehicle pick-up)
