A Cross-Cultural Love Story Set Against 1980s Global Political Turmoil

Dianna, a young southern American woman, and Qasim, a Lebanese diplomat, couldn't be more different, but one night ignites a passionate love affair that neither expected. They find themselves caught between love and duty.

In 1981, Dianna moves to New York City for a job at The Met. Soon, she's soon swept off her feet by Qasim, a charming Lebanese diplomat, and finds herself entangled in the woes of his war-torn homeland.

As Qasim works long hours and travels to represent his country at the United Nations, their forbidden love faces insurmountable obstacles. They couldn't be more different, and they must overcome societal and familial judgment. But the one thing that will keep them apart is secrets they won't share. Will their cultural differences, social mores, and global turmoil divide them, or can their love overcome the continents that divide them?

This award-winning novel blends a love story and 20th century historical fiction. Written by a National Geographic and humanitarian (International Red Cross & Red Crescent) journalist, it explores themes of peace, loyalty, and the possibility of love amid conflict. It's a timely and timeless book, perfect for readers who enjoy emotionally rich characters, historical detail, and multicultural perspectives.
