Über den Autor
Confucius, known in Chinese as Kongzi or Kong Fuzi, was a teacher, thinker, and moral philosopher whose influence on Chinese and East Asian civilization is difficult to overstate. Traditionally dated to 551-479 BCE, he lived during a period of political disorder and social change and devoted his teaching to the restoration of moral order through learning, ritual propriety, humane conduct, and responsible leadership. Through them, Confucius shaped ideals of education, family obligation, government, self-discipline, reverence, and ethical refinement that influenced China and much of East Asia for centuries. His teachings continue to matter to readers of philosophy, religion, ethics, political thought, leadership, education, and wisdom literature because they ask one of the most practical questions in human life: how does a person become worthy of trust, respect, and responsibility?
