Rohan Kda's The Pagoda (Gojnot, ) first appeared in installments in 1891-1892. This first English translation was published in 1909. Sakae Shioya, the translator, was the author of When I Was a Boy in Japan (1906).

Über den Autor

Rohan Kda was the pen name of Kda Shigeyuki (1867-1947), a Japanese author in the Meiji period.
Sakae Shioya (1873-1961) was the author of When I Was a Boy in Japan (Boston, 1906).
