Beschreibung
Here is the presentation of one of the most important volumes of music of all times for solo instrument. While not strictly musicological, the approach has been to reconcile practical aspects and matters of historical concern from the performer¿s perspective. A peer of Bach, Haendel and Telemann, Silvius Leopold Weiss (1687-1750) was the greatest lutenist of the late Baroque, and his huge corpus of music - of an astonishing quality - is still being discovered today. ¿The format, program notes and charts are very well conceived, informative, scholarly, and pay close attention to detail¿ - Edward Martin, Lute Quarterly.
