Beschreibung
In this thorough series of lessons, Thomas H. Burgoyne explains the spiritual realms and mysterious forces which exert influence upon humans and their souls. This edition contains both volumes.
The inquiries made by Burgoyne are varied and eclectic; they range from ancient deities of Egypt such as Isis, to the behavior of the celestial bodies, to the emergence of alchemy in Medieval Europe. The spiritual nature of life and the soul is examined; how the human soul gains attributes of personality and morality, and how our perceptions can recognize and understand manifestations of the spiritual realms beyond our own. Astronomical phenomena are highlighted for their pertinence, with Zodiac signs receiving particular emphasis.
The author was aware of a psychic presence in his own mind from a young age; he claimed that during childhood he made contact with the Brotherhood of Light, an organization consisting of advanced spiritual entities. Their otherworldly origins, and the knowledge they imparted, led Burgoyne to immigrate to the United States. He founded the Hermetic Brotherhood of Luxor, and his publications on subjects of the occult and the spiritual blossomed to achieve substantial recognition. He died in 1894, aged only thirty-nine.

Über den Autor
On April 14, 1855, Thomas H. Burgoyne was born in Scotland and raised there before becoming an astrologer and founding member of the Hermetic Brotherhood of Luxor. He claimed to be spontaneously telepathic and that as a young boy, he had communication with the Brotherhood of Light, a group of evolved, discarnate creatures that want to direct the course of human history.
William Henry Burgoyne established the Brotherhood of Light in 1885, and the Hermetic Brotherhood of Luxor was its outward manifestation. He created a collection of courses to promote the fraternity to the general public when he was a member of it. The teachings were released as The Light of Egypt in 1889. The Hermeticism Society, an esoteric occult order, was founded as a result of them.
Burgoyne believed the Brotherhood of Light to be an occult group established in opposition to the then-dominant religious authorities in ancient Egypt. The fraternity was carried on after death by the members on their new level of existence.
