Schools are closed to help prevent the spread of a sickness. Alice and other children must do their school work at home.
Alice is sad she has to stay home and can't play with her friends.
Her mom talks to her about how the world is different and instead of feeling sad, to feel gratitude. Alice doesn't understand the meaning of gratitude so her mom explains its good hearted feeling.
They go for a walk and laugh at the funny looking cloud animals in the sky.
Then they sit under a tree as Alice's mom tells her a fairy story about an old magical tree who is sick and how the woodland fairies use the special power of gratitude to spread good hearted feelings to help the trees feel better.
Alice's mom finishes telling the story and suggests every day they write what makes them feel grateful.
To encourage expressing feelings of gratitude, the last page is interactive for children to write or draw what makes them feel grateful.
A delightful fairytale with a magical lesson about the importance of gratitude.
An enchanting picture book with fairies and gratitude as its main theme.
Enchanting words and story by Linda Appleby.
Whimsical illustrations by Zoe Saunders [...]
