What does it truly cost to lead and who do you become in the process? The Ethics of Becoming: How to Lead Others While Becoming Yourself offers a powerful rethinking of leadership for a world shaped by complexity, conflict, and irreversible choices. Rather than focusing on techniques or authority, Dr. Valkyrie Scheidl explores leadership as an ethical process of becoming, one that reshapes both systems and the inner life of the leader.Through compelling narrative case studies and myth informed analysis, the book examines leadership moments where there are no clean solutions: betrayal, moral injury, forgiveness, hard decisions, and the limits of power. It introduces three recurring leadership paths: - the Sovereign- the Bridge and - the Relational Leadershowing how leaders must move between them as circumstances [...] a distinctive relational and queer informed perspective on power, this book challenges dominance based leadership models and explores leadership rooted in restraint, accountability, trust, and shared [...] Ethics of Becoming is written for executives, founders, change leaders, coaches, and readers seeking ethical leadership guidance that goes beyond tools and frameworks. Honest, rigorous, and deeply human, this book is for anyone asking not just how to lead but how to remain whole while doing so.
