Gerald A. Matt
is an Austrian curator, writer and the director of the Vienna Art Institute and former longterm director of Kunsthalle Vienna. He hosts a variety of TV talks with personalities from the cultural, social and political field. He was instrumental in establishing the Kunsthalle Vienna as an international reputated institution for contemporary art and the Museumsquartier Vienna as an important museum complex. He was also a promoter of the temporary Kunsthalle Berlin. He is associate professor at the University of Applied Arts Vienna and taught at the CIAM in Cologne.
He also lectured art theory at the Institute of Art History at the University of Innsbruck. At the same time he worked as a senior consultant at Graf & Partner, a museum and art advising company. Matt published several books on art and museum management.
