Very much aimed at beginners, there are 6 projects of increasing difficulty, aiming to teach you how to sculpt in wire from the most basic starting point up through to soldering. The first projects give you information about wire and using pliers, and then how to incorporate other materials such as tin, feathers and material to your work. The last project includes the use of some simple silver soldering.

Get started with clear step-by-step images that show you the processes involved in every project and be inspired by the work of contemporary artists showing everything from hats and shoes, to life-size figures, sheep and even elephants.

Über den Autor

Cathy Miles is a wire sculptor who graduated from London Guildhall with an MA in Silversmithing, Jewellery and Allied Crafts. She exhibits at shows around the world, has won a Next Move Award from the Crafts Council, and has taught workshops at Rugby Art Gallery and Museum as well as at the Oriel Davies Gallery and Liverpool Hope University. Cathy sells her work at many of the big craft fairs such as Origin and has been featured in several craft magazines.
