Über den Autor
Johno Breeze is a Consultant Maxillofacial Surgeon at the Royal Centre for Defence Medicine and University Hospitals Birmingham, and a Lieutenant Colonel in the Royal Army Medical Corps. He has deployed to Bosnia, Oman, and three times to Afghanistan. He completed his medical and dental degrees in London, his PhD in Birmingham, and a fellowship in Craniomaxillofacial Trauma at Duke University, USA. He has been awarded military healthcare person of the year and the civil service prize for innovation for his work in developing military body armour. He is currently the Editor of BMJ Military Health. He is a senior lecturer at The Royal British Legion Centre for Blast Injury Studies and the Department of Bioengineering at Imperial College London. His research centres around the medical optimisation of body armour, emergency preparedness and protection of the national infrastructure against explosive threats.
Ross Elledge studied dentistry at the University of Malta and medicine at the University of Birmingham, being awarded the Chancellor's Prize and Sir Arthur Thomson Gold Medal. His higher surgical training was in the West Midlands Deanery, during which he also completed a Masters in Medical Education with the University of Dundee. Following Training Interface Group (TIG) Fellowships in Reconstructive and Aesthetic Surgery and the Management of Skin Cancer, he was appointed as Consultant Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeon at University Hospitals Birmingham NHS Foundation Trust in 2018, with subspecialty interests in skin cancer and temporomandibular disorders. He is Honorary Senior Lecturer at the College of Medical and Dental Sciences, University of Birmingham and regularly examines for the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Glasgow. He is also an Associate Editor for the British Journal of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery.
