What did the first Christians actually experience-and how different was their life together from modern Christianity?
In Revolution, Gene Edwards tells the sweeping story of the first-century church in vivid narrative form, tracing its beginnings in Jerusalem, its spread through Judea, and its expansion into Antioch.
Drawing from Scripture and historical insight, Edwards reconstructs daily church life among the earliest believers-their gatherings in homes, their struggles, their debates, their persecutions, and their growth as a living spiritual community.
This is not a technical history. It is a story.
Through dramatic scenes and personal portraits-including Barnabas, Stephen, Saul, and others-you will witness how the ekklesia took shape in its earliest years and how ordinary believers lived out an extraordinary faith.
In this book you will discover:
What daily life looked like inside the first-century church
How the early believers gathered, worshiped, and served
The challenges and turning points that shaped the movement
How leadership emerged in the apostolic era
A compelling narrative of Acts-era Christianity
Revolution invites you to ask one question:
Do modern-day practices resemble what happened in Century One?
For readers interested in church history, discipleship, and the practical life of the early believers, this book offers a thoughtful and engaging journey into the roots of the Christian faith.
