Über den Autor

Francesco Franceschi completed his residency training at the Catholic University of Sacred Heart, Rome-Italy. His clinical interests include shoulder arthroscopy and arthroplasty. He is on staff at Villa San Pietro, Fatebenefratelli, Rome-Italy. He is Professor of Orthopaedic Surgery at Unicamillus Medical School, Rome-Italy and Consultant for the Vatican State Health Care (FAS). He has published scientific articles and book chapters on various topics related to shoulder surgery and has presented his scientific research at several academic meetings.

George Athwal is originally from Vancouver, and completed his M.D. at the University of British Columbia. Following completion of his orthopedic surgery residency at Queen's University, he spent 2 years sub-specializing in upper extremity reconstruction and trauma. He completed a 1-year fellowship at the Hospital for Special Surgery, Cornell University, New York, NY. Following this, he completed 1-year at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, MN specializing in shoulder and elbow surgery. In 2005, he joined the Roth-McFarlane Hand and Upper Limb Centre at the University of Western Ontario. He is actively involved in biomechanical and clinical research pertaining to the shoulder and elbow. He is the author of more than 400 publications, chapters and books pertaining to the shoulder and elbow.

Alexandre Lädermann, is Privat Docent at the University of Geneva, founder of BeeMed and Med4Cast, and president of the foundation for Research and Teaching in Orthopedics, Sports Medicine, Trauma, and Imaging (FORE). He is a leading specialist in the field of shoulder and elbow surgery. Dr. Alexandre Lädermann is placed in the top 0.1% of scholars writing about the Shoulder Surgery over the past 10 years by Expertscape's PubMed-based algorithms, a level labeled as "World Expert." He is the author of more than 200 publications in journals and books concerning the shoulder joint.

He is also a member of the Central Committee of the French Arthroscopic Society (SFA), past president of Swiss Shoulder Society (Expertengruppe Schulter und Ellbogen (Swiss Orthopaedics)), and past president of the Membership Committee and Member of the Central Committee of the European Society for Surgery of the Shoulder and the Elbow (SECEC/ESSSE). Moreover, he is chairman of the 12th Val d'Isère Advanced Shoulder Course and has been president of congress of the European Society for Shoulder and Elbow Surgery (SECEC/ESSSE) in Geneva and of the International Congress on Adipose Stem cell Treatment (iCAST) in Zurich.

Edoardo Giovannetti de Sanctis is a shoulder specialist orthopaedic surgeon at the Department of Orthopaedic and Trauma Surgery, San Pietro Fatebenefratelli Hospital. He attended medical school in Campus Bio-Medico University and underwent orthopaedic training at the Catholic University of the Sacred Heart of Rome. He completed Fellowships in San Antonio, Texas (Dr SS. Burkhart ) and Lyon, France (Dr Lionel Neyton).

He is member of the European Society for Surgery of the Shoulder & Elbow (ESSSE/SECEC).
