Our astrologer, Ragavachari, a quinquagenearian, (aged between 50-59), protagonist of this novel, is not only a pietistic ,religiose and self-righteous Brahmin but also plays a pivot role in the life of his son Baskar, -Shyamala- Vidhya Kiran and VijayKiran and he was propped up by a notorious politician, Sivasankar with whom he had been in his good books ever since the birth of his daughter, Meenah, and our Astrologer, at the end of the novel, the climax of the novel, unfolds the secrets which none expects including the readers of this novelette. The romantic scenes in this novelette are realistic and thus cannot be considered as a smut and the readers can imagine realistica
