Über den Autor
Dan Koboldt is a prinicipal investigator for Nationwide Children's Hospital and an assistant professor of pediatrics for The Ohio State University. Also a science fiction and fantasy writer, Koboldt is the editor of Putting the Science in Fiction and the author of the Gateways to Alissia trilogy and the Build-a-Dragon Sequence.
Zusammenfassung
The author has built a loyal and engaged following among sci-fi and fantasy writers. His "Science in Sci-Fi, Fact in Fantasy" blog series draws robust traffic from social media and organic search. His website has consistently recorded more than 150K page views annually since 2015. His e-mail list has more than 5,600 opt-in followers and continues to add 50 new subscribers per month, with open rates consistently above 30%. Koboldt is well-known as a mentor to aspiring and emerging sci-fi/fantasy authors through pitching contests like Pitch Wars and #SFFpit.

This book reaches the growing number of self-published authors, for whom fantasy is one the most popular genres. Many aspiring and emerging fantasy writers have not studied the topics covered in this book and would benefit from a basic undertanding to improve their writing.

Complements and builds on the platform of the author's previous edited collection, Putting the Science in Fiction, which was well-received (see quotes). Putting the Science in Fiction helps sci-fi writers add scientific, technical, and medical accuracy to their stories, while this book targets fantasy authors who need help with historical, cultural, and sociological accuracy.
