Padmasambhava has influenced countless beings through the Vajrayanateachings and in particular through the activity of the profound termatreasures. Padmasambhava came to Tibet upon the invitation of KingTrisong Deutsen who wished to establish Buddhism there but wasobstructed by hostile spirits. Once Padmasambhava came, in five yearsthe work was completed for the temple complex of Glorious Samye, the Unchanging and Spontaneously Accomplished Temple. Padmasambhava gave numberless other profound and extraordinary teachings to many destined students headed by the king and his sons and the twenty-five disciples. It is impossible to count exactly how many students inTibet received empowerment from Padmasambhava in person. Many of theseclose students had bloodlines that have continued until the present day. At present he dwells on the vidyadhara level of spontaneous presence in the form of the regent of Vajradhara, unshakable for [...] as samsara remains. Full of compassion he sends out emanations tobenefit beings.
