Garrett Larson doesn't take breaks. But after one too many late nights at the law firm ends with a trip to the hospital, Garrett finds himself on a mandatory vacation back in his hometown. As a couples' vacation spot and engagement destination nestled in the Hudson Valley, Hartsfall, NY, is a beacon for romance and true love. To Garrett, Hartsfall is a constant reminder of why he ended his music career as the bassist for Fool's Gambit to pursue a more practical lifestyle. When his old bandmate's little sister, with her disarming humor and teasing flirtations, rolls into town with a secret in tow, he's forced to confront why he left in the first place.

Evelyn Mariano is a devoted daughter and the friend who is always, always, perfectly fine. She's normal, except for the fact she's spent the last five years concealing that she's also pop sensation Lyla West. With the deadline for her next album looming, the future of her secret in the balance, and inspiration at an all-time low, Hartsfall is the perfect town to help her get lost in someone else's love story. Evelyn isn't running away from her problems; she's relocating them to somewhere more scenic.

Evelyn doesn't trust herself when it comes to love. Garrett doesn't trust himself when it comes to her. But what's the harm in a little songwriting between friends?
