Beschreibung
Tasmania, 1879: Young Fred is causing trouble in the classroom. And so begins Out of the Ordinary, a fictional biography that examines the formative years of Frederick Matthias Alexander, founder of the world-renowned Alexander Technique.

This engrossing novel explores people and events that shaped his character and influenced his development. In Wynyard an enlightened teacher arouses his passion for Shakespeare; in Waratah he meets the unconventional young couple with whom his life becomes intertwined; in Melbourne he wins accolades for his acting and recitations.

But when he loses his voice and is faced with failure, it is his own determination and intelligence that leads him to a ground breaking discovery.
With sensitively drawn characters, Out of the Ordinary offers new insights into the uncompromising, sometimes controversial, character of FM Alexander.
