Beschreibung
This gentle and incredibly poignant picture book tells the true story of how one baby found his home.

"Some babies are born into their families. Some are adopted. This is the story of how one baby found his family in the New York City subway."

So begins the true story of Kevin and how he found his Daddy Danny and Papa Pete. Written in a direct address to his son, Pete's moving and emotional text tells how his partner, Danny, found a baby tucked away in the corner of a subway station on his way home from work one day. Pete and Danny ended up adopting the baby together. Although neither of them had prepared for the prospect of parenthood, they are reminded, "Where there is love, anything is possible."

Zusammenfassung
A true story: Peter's husband, Danny, found a baby in a subway station in 2000, and the story sparked a media frenzy. Peter wrote about the journey in his New York Times essay "We Found Our Son in the Subway."

Families of all kinds: While this story is certainly unique to Peter's family, the message about family is universal and gives cozy and affirming messages of love and acceptance.

Timely and needed: Normalizing different family origin stories is critical. This LGBTQ adoption tale will be a terrific conversation starter in any classroom.

Accessible and approachable: This picture book doesn't shy away from the hard stuff-foster care, the discrimination against gay men adopting, financial insecurities-but Peter's writing is reassuring and the refrain of "Where there is love, anything is possible," carries the reader through the tough stuff.

Acclaimed illustrator: Leo Espinosa's work has been awarded gold and silver Medals from the Society of Illustrators, and his bright, expressive style is the perfect match for this deeply moving story.

Happily ever after: Kevin thrived and is in college. This is truly a wonderful, feel-good family story.
