Nursing Pharmacology: An Active Learning Approach to Developing Safe and Effective Practice interlaces practice-critical drug knowledge with the author's Physio-Pharmacological Concepts (PPCs) to help make the theoretical practical. The text is designed to support applications in active learning environments and case discussions. It directly addresses the needs of nursing students preparing for the NCLEX and instills the necessary knowledge for safe and effective practice beyond the licensing exam.

The book covers basic drug regulation and principles, neuropharmacology, inflammation, and cardiovascular and pulmonary function, as well as nutrition, digestion, and hormonal control. Through a clear presentation style, the text promotes an understanding of the PPCs that underpin nursing duties such as monitoring drug effects, patient education, and team practice within healthcare settings.

It is complemented with appendices on specialized topics like oncology drugs, drugs to treat substance use, and medical cannabis.

Nursing Pharmacology is ideal for courses in nursing pharmacology, particularly at an undergraduate level, where students can benefit from its practical case studies and real-world application points. Its structure supports both lecture-based learning and hands-on approaches such as flipped classrooms. The text serves as an essential resource in preparing for NCLEX-type examinations and fostering effective nursing practices.
