Beschreibung
This book presents principal research and theoretical elaborations in the area of development of new generation inorganic anion exchangers based on complex metal oxides (about 80 research samples are shown). It contains detailed description of the original fine inorganic (alkoxide-free sol-gel) synthesis invented by the author that designs Layered double hydroxides (LDHs) (Mg-Al-CO3 LDHs) with unique structural characteristics and exceptional removal performance to many anions whose concentrations are under control of World Health Organization (H2AsO4¿, H2PO4¿, SeO42¿, As(III), HSeO3¿, BrO3¿, F¿, Br¿). Development of the synthetic methods for preparation of the effective inorganic sorbents was performed via in-depth study of the materials chemistry, atomic scale structure of the solids and molecular mechanism of dissolved anions removal by using both traditional and precision spectroscopy tools such as EXAFS/XANES and XPS. As a result, a new level of comprehension has been reached about the structure and sorption mechanism (and their interdependence) of synthetic inorganic anion exchangers made up of complex metal oxides including layered materials, LDHs.

Über den Autor
Dr. Natalia Chubar is Ukrainian senior scientist whose international academic career has largely been focused on development of synthetic inorganic adsorptive materials for the removal of toxic anions. Among her greatest achievements are discovery of the novel synthesis and methodological ideas based on using EXAFS simulated local structures.
