Masters in Pieces introduces students to the ideas and people surrounding a selection of the most significant English literature of the past thousand years. Taking a contemporary critical literacy approach to major literary works, students completing units in this text will be prepared for their senior years and beyond. Masters in Pieces encourages students to think about literary texts critically, in relation to popular culture while also discussing the existence and formation of the English literary canon. The textbook has been created for students to respond to the texts in a variety of ways, from essay-writing and role-plays to creative writing and mock trials. Über den Autor
Michael Parker served as a missionary and professor of church history for many years in Sudan, Rwanda, and Egypt. Most recently, he was the director of graduate studies at the Evangelical Theological Seminary in Cairo, Egypt, from 2012 to 2020. He is also the author of five previous books, including The Kingdom of Character: The Student Volunteer Movement for Foreign Missions, 1886-1926 (2008).
