Kurt Busiek schreibt seit 1982 Comics. Für Marvel hat er mehrere Serien geschrieben, unter anderem The Avengers. Seine Arbeit an der vierteiligen Miniserie Marvels wurde allseits gelobt. Im Jahr 1995 erfand er sein eigenes Superhelden-Multiversum, die Serie Astro City.
