The collection Let Us Start with Africa: Foundations of Rastafari Scholarship commemorates the inaugural Rastafari Studies Conference, held in August 2010, and collects, for the first time, some of the main thinkers on Rastafari. With a foreword by renowned Garvey scholar Rupert Lewis and a comprehensive introduction by the editors, this collection is essential reading for students of Rastafari studies, as well as African and Caribbean studies.

Über den Autor

Jahlani Niaah is Lecturer in Cultural and Rastafari Studies, Institute for Caribbean Studies, University of the West Indies, Mona, Jamaica, where he also coordinates the Rastafari Studies Unit.

Erin MacLeod teaches at Vanier College in Montreal, Canada, and has also served as a postdoctoral fellow at the University of the West Indies, Mona. Her book on Ethiopians and Rastafari is forthcoming from NYU Press.
