Is e a tha anns an leabhar seo ach òrain is laoidhean na Fèinne a chruinnich an deasaiche agus iomadh neach eile eadar 1512 agus 1871.
Rannsaich Iain Òg Ìle an dà chuid seann làmh-sgrìobhannan agus dualchas beò an t-sluaigh mar a bha e na latha-san gus an leabhar seo a chur ri chèile. Chan eil a shamhail ri faighinn ma thathas ag iarraidh blasad air fìor shùgh ealain na Gàidhlig: litreachas na Fèinne bho pheann nan uaislean agus bho bhilean nan cumantan le chèile.
