Beschreibung
Konrad Morgen: The Conscience of a Nazi Judge is a moral biography of Georg Konrad Morgen, who prosecuted crimes committed by members of the SS in Nazi concentration camps and eventually came face-to-face with the system of industrialized murder at Auschwitz. His wartime papers and postwar testimonies yield a study in moral complexity.

Zusammenfassung

The first truly nuanced portrait of a member of the SS and Nazi Party

A truly remarkable book, which grips the reader from the very outset. It forces us to question how individual fears, commitments and ideals can make people act in both morally courageous and reprehensible ways

A wealth of case study material is presented in an accessible way throughout the book
