Beschreibung
In a country where crime runs rampant, something extraordinary has begun to happen. Holdups are foiled before the police arrive. Carjackers are caught, hostages are freed, floods are survived - all thanks to a mysterious figure no one can identify. He lands a crippled Boeing 747. He helps an old woman cross the street. Who is this person?
Kapitan Sino (Captain Who) is Bob Ong at his most Bob Ong - sharp, funny, and disarmingly human. Written in the voice of a friend who somehow makes you think deeply while making you snort with laughter, the story tackles big questions through the lens of everyday Filipino life: the jeepney rides, the neighborhood chismis, the very relatable chaos of just trying to get by. What does it mean to be a hero here, in this country, among these people?
Warm, witty, and written in that unmistakable conversational style that has made Bob Ong one of the most beloved Filipino authors of his generation - Kapitan Sino is ultimately a story about the price of goodness in a world that doesn't always deserve it.
