Beschreibung
A reassuring and heartfelt celebration of adoptive families, belonging, and unconditional love.
What truly makes a family?
When Kaida's second-grade class is assigned a family tree project, she begins asking questions about the biological family she doesn't know. With the love and support of her parents, Kaida discovers a beautiful truth: families are not defined by biology alone. They are built through love, choice, and a deep sense of belonging.
Inspired by the author's own adoption story, Kaida and Her Chosen Family is a heartfelt picture book that celebrates the many ways families are formed. It offers a meaningful mirror for adopted children and a window into the adoption experience for classmates, friends, and families.
Perfect for:Opening thoughtful, age-appropriate conversations about adoption, foster care, and diverse family structures
Elementary classrooms and school libraries
Social-emotional learning (SEL)
Parents, caregivers, and educators
Children ages 5-9

This tender story reminds young readers that what makes a family isn't how its story begins, but the love that keeps it together.
