As the title implies, these four concertini by Joseph Haydn have to do with small concerti, whereby "small" is to be considered from several points of view: the size of the Haydn concertini, the scoring for piano solo, two violins and bass as well as the technical demands made upon the solo pianist - Haydn's early works were laid out so as to be easy to play. They thus offer ideal literature for young pianists' first appearances on the stage and can also serve to prepare the larger piano concerti of Haydn and Mozart. / Comme l'indique leur titre, ces quatre Concertini de Joseph Haydn sont effectivement de pe-tits concertos - et ce sur plusieurs plans: leur durée, la formation instrumentale comportant un piano soliste, deux violons et une basse, et leurs exigences techniques envers le pianiste. En effet, les premières oeuvres de Haydn sont de niveau facile et ainsi particulièrement indiquées aussi bien pour les premiers concerts en public que pour la préparation des concertos de Haydn et de Mozart de plus grande envergure. / Wie der Titel schon sagt, handelt es sich bei diesen vier Concertini von Joseph Haydn um kleine Konzerte - wobei klein in mehrerer Hinsicht gilt: für den Umfang der Werke, für die Besetzung mit Soloklavier, zwei Violinen und Bass und ebenso für die technischen Ansprüche an den Pianisten.
