Beschreibung
The Sahelo-Saharan space is like a sick person with several doctors at his bedside, each of whom is trying to diagnose him according to his strategic interests. Several doctors, one patient whose condition is only getting worse. It is time to change the paradigm. The Sahelo-Saharan space, which is plagued by various sources of insecurity, needs a global and coordinated response in the fight against jihadist terrorism and organized crime. The segmented responses that states are trying to provide today are not effective in combating these threats. In order to better combat the phenomenon, it is necessary to consider it as a whole that cannot be dissociated from its other parts, namely organized crime and trafficking of all kinds. A growing interdependence has been created between terrorist groups and drug traffickers. Money being the sinews of war, these groups are increasingly turning to trafficking of all kinds to finance their actions and maintain their troops. However, the States of the region are sorely lacking in financial resources to support the range of response mechanisms against this threat
