Dr. Hawkins is a clinical psychologist, behavioral health consultant, and a food allergy mom and advocate. She holds a doctorate in child clinical psychology and an MPH in Health Services from the University of Washington. Dr. Hawkins is licensed and maintains a private therapy practice in the states of Washington and Oregon. One area of specialization is working with food allergy families to manage the accompanying stress, anxiety, and traumatic experiences that tend to occur with [...]. Hawkins is also the mother of two children. Her youngest daughter was severely allergic to more than twenty different foods, including seven of the nine top allergens, and suffered from severe eczema and environmental allergies. Some of her allergies were outgrown, some have been successfully treated with two of the treatments described in the book and are now included in her daily diet, and she is currently undergoing treatment for others. Dr. Hawkins combines her personal experience and education/training to help build and maintain emotional health and wellbeing for those living with food allergies.
