After a devastating accident leaves former glider pilot Alicia King grounded and struggling with hearing loss, she returns to her family home on Vancouver Island convinced her future is over.Working at a failing ferry company and fighting to support her family was never part of the plan. Neither was Mia - the sharp-tongued coworker who becomes Alicia's closest friend - or Paul Andersen, the brooding American IT guy with an old soul, a complicated past, and a way of understanding Alicia's brokenness that makes her feel alive again. Surrounded by people who slowly help her find her footing again - for the first time since her crash - Alicia begins to feel something she thought was gone forever: hope. Hope that she might fly again. Hope that she might still deserve love, fun, passion, and a future beyond survival. But as her undeniable chemistry and connection with Paul deepens and his past begins to unravel, Alicia is forced to confront a heartbreaking question:How do you tell the difference between the people who are your true tribe... and the ones who are only there to shape who you become? Set against the rain-soaked beauty of Vancouver Island, How We Land is a new, emotionally charged story about heartbreak, healing, and learning how to rebuild yourself after everything falls [...] readers who love emotionally devastating contemporary fiction with intense chemistry, complicated relationships, and unforgettable heroines.

Über den Autor
Anna Wilk is a British-Polish writer living in Vancouver, Canada. Having lived in the UK, Poland, Germany, and Canada-and traveled to more than seventy countries-she draws inspiration from her family's aviation history, her own struggle with disability, and from observing people and capturing the emotional truths--and flaws--that connect us. Her passion for writing grew from a successful career in brand storytelling and reading her father's and grandfather's memoirs. How We Land is her debut novel, a contemporary story set on the Pacific Coast, written with heart and wit, about a strong, young woman--a glider pilot--who makes mistakes, navigates desire and discovers that heartbreak and healing can coexist, in most surprising ways.
